How to take part

The February 29th Project – 2012.

To mark this leap year I have decided to ask people to take a single photograph on February 29th. The photographs will be published on this blog one day at a time.

This is an experiment. I don’t know how many people will take part or how different we will be. Maybe everybody who participates will be located in the UK and be roughly my age or then again maybe not. The not knowing adds to the excitment.

How to take part

It is fairly straight forward. On February 29th take a photograph of something, of anything. Don’t worry if you are not a brilliant photographer, or you don’t have time to get out and photograph something extraordinary.

Just point your camera at something and shoot.

This is a project that is about collaborating with other people. Who knows? Your mundane shot of your desk at work, old shoe, veiw from your coach may take on a whole new meaning when sandwiched between shots from people on the other side of  world.

Submissions

Email your photograph to february29thproject@gmail.com with February 29th Project Submission in the subject line.

Contributions can be anonymous but should include some indication of your age, sex and location*.

If possible please include a short description about the photograph (no more than 300 words). This will be published along with the photograph.

*This information can be as approximate or accurate as you like and is only intended to give readers/viewers a feel for the diversity of people taking part.

And Finally…

Please help make this project a success by asking  your friends and relatives to take part. Together we’ll freeze time, and create a snap shot of life on planet earth in 2012.

What a great idea! I’ll try to participate- it’s our busiest week of the year at work but this sounds too fun to pass up!
